Gailen David, Co-Director

Gailen co-founded The First Flight Out in Coconut Grove, Florida, a historical exhibit centered on the Flying Clipper seaplane operations of Pan American Airways from Dinner Key. First Flight Out is now a traveling Air History Project exhibition and will reopen in Coconut Grove in the Winter 2021/22 season.

He began assembling his vast collection of commercial airline memorabilia in 1973 and now sees to photography, digitization, and storage of items trusted to the care of Air History Project for the enjoyment of visitors from around the world.

After a 24 year career with American Airlines, Gailen worked as a television producer and on-air host. He now focuses on his aviation inspired retail & hospitality businesses as Managing Partner of Airoplex, LLC.
